Okay so when I first heard about Twitter I thought "oh that is a cute idea but it sounds totally useless."

Eventually I got a Twitter account of my own so that I could post status updates for the comic and people would stop hitting F5 over and over again all night.* At this point my opinion was "okay MAYBE Twitter has its uses but it is still pretty dumb to be all 'oh hey guys I just had the most AWESOME sandwich for lunch.'"

Then I started following other people on Twitter. Dudes like RStevens and Paul Southworth who tweet basically ALL DAY. I was expecting to be annoyed by this but somehow it has become COMPELLING READING, even though the majority of people's posts are exactly the kind of "awesome sandwich" Tweets I thought were so "dumb" in the first place.

Now I'm completely addicted. I find myself following more and more people (right now I'm sticking to folks I know personally either via Internet or Real Life). The highlight of getting in to the office is catching up on Twitter while I drink my coffee and responding to people's tweets where appropriate. The other day I think I must have made like twenty posts in an afternoon.

The appeal of Twitter, for me, is the CONTENT: constant streams of new things to read, all day, every day. It's the same reason I've been reading Jerkcity for the last, oh, eight years:† even if not every new bit of content is funny, enough of it is to make the aggregate worthwhile.

So Twitter, I wasn't wrong about you. You are a web application with genuine uses, but 99% of your content is "awesome sandwich" inanity. And I think that is totally awesome and fun. I have become a Twitterer, for better or worse.

Sometimes, I feel so lonely that I can hardly stand it.

And, sometimes I just wish that someone was interested in me romantically (someone who's not crazy). It's not that I need a man to make me happy, because I don't. But, I've been alone for so long, minus the occasional fling-gone-wrong. Five years of being single (and I'm not counting D.W., because we were together for a WEEK before I found out about Jessica, and he didn't even live here).

I think it's even tougher being a mom and raising a kid when you have noone to share it with.

I Just want someone to really, truly care about me enough to want to be with me. I want to find love like so many of the people in my life have.



Sorry for the emo rant. Being alone is just starting to get to me, I guess.

This will never, EVER get old.

My Mother's Day was nice....Mason and I watched movies and played with his toy cars all day. Then, around 5:30, Amy came over and we went to Wal-Mart, then came back to the house and had a delicious dinner consisting of taco burgers and nachos. We ate until we felt like we were gonna explode, then watched Law & Order: SVU DVDs. Conrad, Jimmie, and Sam came by for a bit as well, which was nice.

Today, I was off work, so we lounged around all day. Then, around 5:30, my mom and her boyfriend and his mom came over for dinner. Amy showed up a little while later, and we started barbequing. We had hamburgers and hot dogs and watched In And Out.

Now, it's just me, Amy, amd Mason...I'm about to give Mason his bath, and then we're going to watch more L&O and a couple of random movies.

I'm off tomorrow as well, so I need to get some work done in my guest bedroom to make it usuable and get my bedroom cleaned up a little. I also have alot of mess in my kitchen from tonight, and I'm too full and lazy to clean it tonight. I just want to lay around in my PJs and relax.

In other news, I need to have sex. Like, immediately.
